provider onboarding enhancements

california medical evaluators

Jan 2023 - nov 2023

During the last year, the Operations Team has worked to improve capabilities in managing our existing medical-legal practices and tightening our processes. At the start of the project, the Executive Team sought to deploy needed improvements to our physician onboarding process to provide a smoother experience for our providers, better align the account handoff between Sales and Operations, and better leverage our technological resources in both areas. I acted as the primary Project Manager, helping to identify the primary needs and deliverables of the project, facilitated coordination across several departments and different levels of the organization between the C-Suite, Director, and Mid-Level, and presented final deliverables with additional training resources to the appropriate teams after thorough user testing.

KEY Deliverables

  • Revised New Provider Journey & Training Curriculum
  • Updated Physician Onboarding Process Document
  • Overhauled Provider Credentialing Packet with data alignment between Sales, Operations, and System
  • Integrated New Physician Credentialing with current Credentialing Department Processes

RESULTS & IMPACT

  • 100% new physician retention since training updates
  • Results for other enhancements will be in Q4 2023

credentialing department restructuring

california medical evaluators

sep 2022 - dec 2022

Upon taking over as Credentialing Manager for California Medical Evaluators, I was tasked with restructuring our Credentialing Department which was previously a one-person team with little transparency, few documented operating processes, and shared very little knowledge with other departments. Working with the Director of Operations, I not only created a new operational framework for the Credentialing Department but rolled out several new process updates, leveraged our IT capabilities to add new infrastructure and transparency with Credentialing Processes, redistributed tasks and knowledge to applicable team members as well as the organization as a whole, and successfully re-credentialed almost 100 physicians within 3 months.

KEY Deliverables

  • Credentialing Department Work Breakdown Structure
  • Revised Credentialing RACI Diagram
  • Documentation for Most Critical Processes
  • Updated Credentialing Request Portal
  • System Enhancements for Credentialing Data and Tracking Capabilities
  • Instructional Resources & How-To Guides for Practice Managers for Annual Physician Credentialing

RESULTS & IMPACT

  • Completion of physician re-credentialing with an almost 100% timely submission rate and increased accuracy quarter-over-quarter
  • Improved visibility and confidence for Practice Managers to address any Credentialing-related questions
  • Improved relationship with the California Department of Workers Compensation and other applicable governing bodies
  • Created additional roles for internal staff with increased capacity to handle shorter-duration operational projects

community volunteer program launch

ucla unicamp

sep 2022 - Jun 2023

I launched the organization’s first-ever Community Volunteer Program a primarily virtual training program for previous UniCamp attendees, past volunteers, and other community members to serve as camp counselors who normally could not participate in person with other volunteers. As the Session Program Director, I drove the development and execution of the program with my Head Counselors by creating recruiting pipelines, revised the curriculum and training format to suit remote participants, establishing timelines and operational resources, and coordinating with all other Session Program Directors and UniCamp Professional Staff to stay aligned with organizational objectives for the in-person volunteers.

KEY Deliverables

  • Program Recruitment Plan & Marketing Resources
  • Virtual-Friendly Training Program & Curriculum
  • Notion Site for Training Updates & Reference Materials
  • Operational Resources for Head Counselors - Calendars, Role Distributions, Regular Check-Ins, and Task Tracking

RESULTS & IMPACT

  • Successfully trained 15 volunteers across the U.S. who served as camp counselors in Summer 2023
  • Near 100% satisfaction with remote training format
  • Continuing of Program for 2023-2024 Training Season
